Love Under the Stars (The Brashear Series Book 1) by Kathleen Shoop
This is a new historical fiction from Kathleen Shoop set in 1861, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A delicate story inspired by the true story of John and Phoebe Brashear who developed telescopes and lenses that are still in use today.
John is a millwright, minister and loves astronomy, his heart is set in the stars and in the Sunday school class just next to him where Phoebe is teaching the children of their community. She is a family-oriented woman and is totally devoted to them. But, after meeting John she begin to wonder her life with him.
It is a leap of faith for both and the book is so wonderfully written. The characters are magnificent, and the story is tender, sensitive, and deep.
I loved this book!
